Why did you choose to become a lineman? Has anyone else in your family been a lineman?
I’m the first in my family to get into the trade. I wanted to get into a trade that allows me to see new things everyday and travel!
What's your favorite part about the job? Why?
I love the traveling.
If you could change something about the job, what would it be?
I wouldn’t change anything about it, I love every day.
How has your life changed since starting your career as a lineman?
I have met so many good people and have gotten to travel to some really cool places.
What's your craziest story from the job?
I haven’t had any crazy experiences yet but working during a storm you see some pretty tragic things, such as wrecked houses.
What's the longest you've been away from home because of work?
So far, only a week!
What would you say is the hardest part about being in a predominantly male industry?
To be honest, sometimes it’s really annoying and inconvenient trying to find a place to pee!
What advice would you give a woman who's thinking of becoming a lineman?
Go for it! It is worth every moment, it opens me up to so many new experiences and opportunities.
